Original Mapping Proposal

Urban Suburbia



For my mapping project, i want to look into the urban spaces in suburban Auckland.

To do this i aim to look at suburbs in the greater auckland area ( maby 10 or so from each district - North, South, East and West Auckland), and choose the main public areas, parks or squares, and photograph the activities and people there. This is to show the wide variety of cultures and activities occurring across Auckland City and to show diversity of public spaces.



My main focus is looking at people and how they use their public spaces. Different ethnic groups and social gropus will use their spaces differently, for example; market days, sports, skateboarding, rest and relaxation.
